Braunstein/Quay Gallery: Grace Munakata - It's Never too Late to Have a Happy Childhood; Aaron Petersen - Sliding Scale.

Review by RWM: Beautiful abstracts with somber pastels by Grace Munakata. One may appreciate the youthful free form, and not miss the bright colors. The work is melancholy and for some maybe nostalgic.

Review by Kathryn Arnold: Partitioned paintings by Aaron Petersen, many are vertical sections often with umbrellas in playful arrangements.

Highlight Gallery: Fictions - Filip Dujardin.

Comment by AB: Elegant new gallery in a large private home in The Heights features the work of Belgian artist Filip Dujardin-- slick digitally engineered fantasy architecture so believable that you're convinced many of these outrageous structures must actually exist. Like 'em. Worth checking out.

941 Geary Gallery: Numb - New Work from Greg Gossel.

Review by RWM: Great show with interesting takes on UK Nationhood and popular icons. Some might wish to put this all at a distance. The pornography infused into some of the paintings, i.e. male pornography, is challenging to fully appreciate. Grand presentation in a grand space nonetheless.

Fabric8 Gallery: Public Trust - Brian Barneclo.

Review by RWM: Fun, stylish and skinny works presented here again by Brian Barneclo. Appreciate the soulful urban tones on display. This may very well be about your neighborhood too. It is also cool that he has a huge outdoor mural on the way.
