Sandra Lee Gallery: My Objectivity - Michal Gavish.

Comment by AB: A hauntingly good tribute that's all about family-- honoring those who have come before and who influence everything we are today in so many different ways. We're all stupendously independent here in liberated Ess Eff, aren't we? Of course we are, but as much as we'd sometimes like to leave it all behind, we must never forget from whence we came. You'd be hard pressed to reminisce much better than this.

Art People Gallery: Simin Massoudi Meykadeh.

Comment by AB: Whaddya want? Picasso, Matisse, Leger, Chagall? Not a problem. It's all unabashedly mimeographed here.

Varnish Fine Art: Creatures of Saintly Disguise - Jennybird Alcantara.

Comment by AB: Exceptionally few of us can paint ourselves up our own fabulously fantastic existences and then insert themselves right into the middle of 'em. Jennybird Alcantara is an artist who can. Why wallow in life's mundane travails when you can opt out for whatever you wish? We may not be able to physically materialize our visions like Alcantara, but we can sure use hers as jumping of points to upgrade the expansiveness of our own realities.

Michael Rosenthal Gallery: Amber Jean Young - Letters Home.

Review by RWM: Emotional and personal. Moving and quirky. Heartfelt and accessible.

Review by Clare Coppel: Text on Fabric, yarn and painting, tiny trees and a giant ice cream cone.

Comment by AB: About as whimsical as art gets.

ArtZone 461 Gallery: Nicholas Coley - Changes In The Landscape; Diana Lee - Top Shelf Scratchboard.

Review by RWM: Great landscapes with generous uses of paint. Nice to get caught up in the emotions and to be in the outdoors if only vicarously. We need to protect what we love. In the side gallery, incredible scratchboard work by Diana Lee. One could confuse them for photographs. Interesting subjects and excellent workmanship. Cool...

Comment by AB: Diana Lee is a phenomenally exceptional-- do I dare say brilliant?-- scratchboard artist. I've never seen anyone work it like she does. Any takers?
