Haines Gallery: Science of Sight - Alternative Photography.

Photographers: MarieAnge, Jo Babcock, Marco Breuer, John Chiara, Pierre Cordier, Binh Danh, Susan Derges, Michelle Kloehn, Klea McKenna, Abelardo Morell, Bettina Samson, Shi Guorui, Wendy Small.

Comment by RWM: Rare approaches. Unusual results. Strange but remarkable images.

Comment by AB: What's to zero in on here? Wendy Small's intricate orderly kaleidoscope photograms, John Chiara's atmospheric flatbed camera landscapes, Pierre Cordier's "chemigrams." But it's all good. Definitely worth a visit.

Rena Bransten Gallery: Big A%# Sculpture Show.

Artists: J.B. Blunk, Viola Frey, Dennis Gallagher, Jun Kaneko, Sam Perry, Robb Putnam, Desi Santiago.

Comment by AB: Big sculptures. You don't see 'em supersized at SF galleries all that often, so here's your chance. The Viola Frey alone makes the sojourn worth it.

Art People Gallery: Nicole Bron Chappuis - Balance & Unity.

Review by RWM: Abstracts with marks remind viewers they're looking at works created entirely out of the mind. Nice lively schemes with collaboration and contrasts of components, colors and shapes.

SFMOMA Artists Gallery: The Unruly Art of Don Ed Hardy.

Comment by AB: From his SFAI student days in the early 1960s studying printmaking to tattoo legend and brand name potentate, Don Ed Hardy splays out the complete continuum for our viewing edification and enjoyment. Don't miss this history, art and marketing extravaganza.

Mina Dresden Gallery: Intimacies - Installation by Miguel Torres, Paintings by Aondrea Maynard.

Comment by AB: Intricate mandalic dried plant and bark installations by Miguel Torres contrast nicely with meditative gradated abstractions by Aondrea Maynard. Check it out-- especially Miguel Torres. The dude puts some major league meticulousness, order, care, effort and dedication into his art.
