Scott Nichols Gallery: Vilem Kriz - An American Surrealist.

Comment by AB: Quirky murky collage-esque compositions by Berkeley photographer Vilem Kriz (1921 - 1994) might fairly fall under the aegis of surrealism even though they're about thirty years after the fact. He had his own unique style though; there's no disputing that.

Corden Potts Gallery: David Wolf - Nurturing Time, Life in a Backyard Garden; Tom Hawkins - The Biggest Garden.

Review by Kathryn Arnold: David Wolf's series of photographs were taken in the Central Valley-- some portraying the poignant views of orchards in various seasons. Black and whites mirror back to past times-- perhaps a play of past and present.

Tom Hawkins creates staged installations and colorful compositions with organic matter and then photographs them. His materials are often placed into containers and then organized in that way.

Hang Art Gallery: Catherine Palmer - Side Street.

Review by Kathryn Arnold: Casual compositions of San Francisco-- not of grandiose buildings here or famous landmarks, but paintings of the everyday views we encounter through the neighborhoods whether driving or parking. Pristine qualities of light highlight personal connections.

Ian Ross Gallery: Shared Secrets - Eddie Colla, Allison Torneros, and Daniela Cuhna Lay.

Comment by AB: Phantasmic urban occurrences by Eddie Colla, chimeric ethereal portraiture by Allison Torneros, and sultry hidden identity portraits by Daniela Cuhna Lay, rendered anonymous with broad monochrome swaths.
