Sandra Lee Gallery: David Maxim Retrospective.

Comment by AB: David Maxim's been making art for forty years. Select highlights of that iconoclastic adventure are on exhibit here-- sculptures, mixed media and paintings.

    Varnish Fine Art: Szukalski.

Comment by AB: Stanislav Szukalski lived from 1893-1987. By 1930, he had produced an astounding body of work, primarily sculpture. Sadly, much of his oeuvre was lost or destroyed during World War II. Fortunately, two coffee table sized books, both published circa 1930 extensively document his early work. And double fortunately, a handful of sculptures survived and have been recast in editions which can be seen and purchased here at Varnish along with a number of works on paper. This is a show worth seeing.

Ever Gold Gallery: Jeremiah Jenkins - Shit Doesn't Have to Be So Fucked Up.

Comment by AB: Jeremiah Jenkins sees an imperfect world, but from an optimist's perspective. He's vowing to make things better-- socially, politically, environmentally, and if humor is considered a part of that agenda, let's call it mission accomplished.
