Marx & Zavattero: Patrick Wilson - The View from My Deck.

Comment by AB: Amazingly accurate and precise geometric abstractions by Los Angeles artist Patrick Wilson combine linear elements with color fields consisting of layer upon layer upon layer of paint. Each progressive layer varies in micro-degrees of tone, color and opacity from the next, the totality resulting in a transcendent translucent dimensionality. Like 'em!

Femina Potens Gallery: Erika Meriaux - Greek Myths.

Comment by AB: Erika Meriaux's wiggy entertaining convergences of fantasy and reality incorporate gods, goddesses, mythology, men, women, animals, wo-men, men-wo, wo-minals, men-imals, erotica, fetish, alcohol, phone poles, beach balls, ironing boards and just about anything else you can think of. Uncommon peregrinations in paint; check 'em out.

Gallery 1988: Nathan Stapley & Scott Campbell - Amicvs Monstrvm.

Comment by AB: These two dudes seem to have it figured out-- paint it good, price it reasonable, sell a lot. Common sense trumps entrenched counterintuitive nonproductive art world impracticality about pricing approximately 100% of the time. Witness the results here-- a veritable red dot bonanza.

The Shooting Gallery: Passing Through - New Works by Hush.

Comment by AB: Hush's art exudes an intense electrifying energy, so much so that it approaches the threshold of a seismic event, but considering the show as a whole, it's kinda like looking at the same painting over and over again. Fortunately, it's a really good painting.

White Walls Gallery: Faces in the Mirror - Blek le Rat; Transitions - Above.

Comment by AB: Paris, France artist Blek le Rat's career in outdoor stencil art spans thirty years. No wonder he's considered the grandfather of the medium and an influence on artists from Banksy to Shepard Fairey. Works by outdoor artist, Above, round out the docket, this being his first indoor show, and comprised of vibrant upbeat high-gloss homilies.
