Andrea Schwartz Gallery: Jamie Brunson and Barbara Kronlins.

Comment by AB: A mix of oil paint, alkyd medium and refined beeswax imparts a velvet serenity to the finishes of Jamie Brunson's soft soothing meditative paintings on panel. On the opposite end of the continuum are Barbara Kronlins' frenetic collaged compositions comprised of numerous skinny cut strips of miscellaneous memorabilia. The fun part is getting in close and attempting to decipher the details of what you're looking at.

Kadist San Francisco: If There Ever Was - An Evening of Extinct and Impossible Smells.

Review by RWM: Interesting smells paired with interesting historical stories to explain them. Most smells are not noticed, but some on occasion can be pungent. The show would have probably be better without the hay and spring fever.

Comment by AB: The odors in this art show for the nose range from Communism to the atomic bomb at Hiroshima. A small white card infused with each scent explains its origins. Read and then sniff... or vice versa. You're the boss.
