Gregory Lind Gallery: Seth Koen - 30s in the 40s.

Comment by AB: Seth Koen's graceful sculptures and sculpture/crochet combinations are so meticulous and painstakingly perfect that when you zoom in for a close up, you can only marvel at the degree of discipline, control and patience required to make them. It's a bona fide pinkie cam paradise. Also on display is a series of letterpress prints that Koen made during a Kala Institute residency. Worth seeing.

Mirus Gallery: Through the Looking Glass - Refraction through the Female Gaze.

Artists: Amandalynn, Evie Cahir, Hall Felker, Stefania Fersini, Vicki Ling, Veronique Meignaud, Alicia Reyes McNamara, Jennier Nehrbass, Annalisa Sher, Lindsay Stripling, Taravat Talepasand, Mandy Tsung, Helice Wen, Janelle Wisehart.

Review by RWM: Beautiful show with interesting perspectives and unusual forms. Variety spices these works which don't always have a coherent recognizable connection to one another. Great to see the outpouring. Some angst, but also pleasure and surprises. Not always fun.

Comment by AB: Women artists from around the world present a plethora of perspectives on the female form.

SOMArts Gallery: Hidden Cities - Experiments & Explorations. Curated by Pireeni Sundaralingam.

Artists: Michael Arcega, Micah Bazant, Jennifer Robin Berry, Evan Bissell, Christian Cerrito, Matilde Cassani, Seng Chen, Ilana Crispi, Jennifer Fisher, Lize Mogel, Yulia Pinkusevich, Christina Seely, Pireeni Sundaralingam, Anja Ulfeldt.

Comment by AB: Area artists essay on various aspects of our city that we don't normally see or even think about, from urban wildlife and excavated earth to sewage treatment and odd architecture. The exercise encourages us all to look a little harder, dig a little deeper and really get to know this place we call home.

    The Great Highway Gallery: Scallywags.

Artists: David Gardner, Jonathan Steinberg, Alexander Schaffer Czech, Boogie Bill Strasser, John Lindsey.

Comment by AB: I trundle myself out to the far western reaches of The City to see this lively group show. The work includes paintings, photography, sculptural wall pieces, and more. As one might expect being so close to the water, there's a distinct focus on surf culture, the ocean and all that they offer.
